Our Institute Faculty Member, Asst. Prof. Tayfun Gundogdu’s project titled " Parametric Analysis and Global Optimization of Limited-Angle Wound Rotor Resolvers " was entitled to receive support by ITU Scientific Research Council.

The aim of this project is to design the most suitable structure for a limited-angle, wound rotor resolver by parametrically examining the operational and geometric design parameters, which are factors influencing position errors, and conducting analytical and numerical analyses, followed by global optimization. After prototyping and performing measurements, the project aims to demonstrate the accuracy of the analyses. The effect of supply voltage, frequency, rotor skew, stack length, air gap length, stator, and rotor yoke ratios, as well as slot shapes on position accuracy, will be investigated. The topics addressed in this project are highly significant and novel in the field of magnetic position sensors.
