The project led by Prof. Dr. Nilgün Karatepe Yavuz at ITU (Istanbul Technical University) is a remarkable research initiative named "Development of Hybrid Energy Storage Systems to Meet High Energy and Power Density Requirements Suitable for Use in Electric and Diesel Vehicles (CAPLION)." This project is conducted in collaboration with Temsa Skoda Sabancı Transportation Vehicles A.Ş. and Sabancı University SUNUM, and it is supported by TÜBİTAK TEYDEB-1505 under the University-Industry Cooperation Support Program.

The main objective of the project is to develop a hybrid energy storage system that combines supercapacitors with lithium-ion batteries. This hybrid system aims to meet the high energy and power density requirements necessary for use in both electric and diesel vehicles. Such a hybrid system has the potential to provide several benefits, including increased energy storage capacity, improved power delivery, and enhanced overall performance of the vehicles.

Moreover, the support of TÜBİTAK TEYDEB-1505 through the University-Industry Cooperation Support Program highlights the significance of this research in advancing technology and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
